Seattle Department of Transportation - Gardening in the Planting Strip
In order to plant in the gardening strip, a Street Use permit is required. But, as long as it meets guidelines, the permit is free!
They recommend including native and drought-tolerant plants and provide a plant list. Food plants allowed. Raised beds within restrictions.
