Toowoomba Regional Council Verge Garden Policy

There are the usual concerns about safety and visibility but this is quite restrictive and permits required.

Interestingly, most of the suggested plants are not natives, and I assume that a requirement to “be aesthetically pleasing and sympathetic with the image of the local government area” probably excludes most edible gardens.

On 10 August 2007, the City of Toowoomba merged with the Shires of Cambooya, Clifton, Crows Nest, Jondaryan, Millmerran, Pittsworth and Rosalie to form the Toowoomba Region so this policy would cover all of those towns.
