Logan City Council Verge Garden Policy

Logan City is between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Council does permit gardens on footpaths if they are constructed in accordance with:

  • Standard Drawing for Landscaping Areas on Footpaths (PDF 179 KB)
  • List of Approved Plants (PDF 410 KB) - mainly low-growing, many but not all natives, plus lettuce and some herbs
  • Fact Sheet for Gardens on Footpaths including Artificial Turf (PDF 545 KB)

You cannot undertake gardens on a verge less than 3 metres wide.

No permanent structures or footings, loose stones, pebbles or sprinklers
