Inner West Council Sydney Nature Strips and Verges

"Verges, also known as nature strips, are important areas of public land that have the potential to provide ecosystem services and help create more liveable spaces."

This council also offers a fee-for-service to have new gardens cut out from concrete footpaths.

The website lets you select your suburb and see what options you have. Generally verge gardens are allowed but growing food is not recommended.

Residents have the option to request that their verge is NOT sprayed with glysophate.
